However, this attempt is thwarted by Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon. We see the other two attacking Wanda Maximoff or Scarlet Witch and Vision, trying to get the Stone Vision possesses. They are joined by Iron Man and Spider-Man, but even together, they have a tough time containing two of Thanos’ lieutenants. The battle soon shifts to earth, before Bruce Banner (no longer in his Hulk form) manages to warn Doctor Strange about Thanos’ plan to wipe out half of all life in the universe. Thanos sends Hulk to earth, and we see that his lieutenants are every bit as deadly as he is. Trying to get the Stone from the Tesseract, Thanos and his lieutenants kill Loki, defeats Thor and Hulk and kills Heimdall too. We see him obtain the Power Stone from Xandar (which we saw in ‘ Guardians of the Galaxy‘) before he attacks Thor and his people aboard the spaceship they used to escape in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’. ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ begins with Thanos well on his way to assembling the Infinity Gauntlet. By the end of the film not a single person said a word, the theater was completely silent. ![]() When I saw the film on opening night, the theater was packed with well over 100 people in attendance. Diverging from the standard Marvel movie storyline worked incredibly well, and I genuinely was not sure what was going to happen until the absolute last shot of the film. ![]() The storyline of Avengers: Infinity War also delivered much more of a punch than expected. The acting was definitely one of the strongpoints of the movie, as was the screenwriting which was able to created a genuine relationship between the many members of the Avengers. The sheer number of A-list actors and heroes in this movie is indeed a little overwhelming at times, but the Russo brothers did a commendable job at making sure that each hero still felt unique, and part of the team. The visuals were stunning, the score fit the mood just right, and spectacular performances were delivered by Benedict Cumberbatch(Doctor Strange), Robert Downey Jr.(Iron Man), and of course Josh Brolin who played Thanos, a menacing, yet oddly complex antagonist.
